It is true, that adultery is defined as "voluntary intercourse between a married man and someone other than his spouse," however, adultery is not always defined in this way. Technology and the media is the most fastest growing industry, thus it is difficult to maintain the boundary between right and wrong. Because pornography is not was it use to be in the 19th century, it is in fact becoming a danger to society. Advancements in technology allows porn to be more realistic and less of a "fantasy." It is not just black and white pictures anymore and it is easier to find, so it is not just a mere imagination. The boundary between right and wrong or immoral and moral has been blurred and there is little regulation to keep up with advanced marketing.
Marriage used to be viewed as sacred, but in the current society it is so easy to break the bond between a man and a woman. What is marriage for if you can look at another woman lustfully? The Bible says lust is a sin.
"Thinking about a person in a sexual manner is not adulterous, acting on it by doing such things as getting a lap dance or something in a closer relationship is." This is partly true but not entirely correct. Just because a person will never see the girl in person doesn't mean the act is" insignificant," as Carlo likes to phrase it. Looking at porn is an act that is almost like a drug. Even though there is no physical relationship between the two people there is an emotional relationship. Relationships are first enhanced through emotions and marriage is an act caused by emotions. This is polygamous in nature. Thus the act is breaking traditional marriage vows especially the last line before a man commits to his wife, which is " forsaking all others, be faithful only to [him/her] so long as you both shall live." A man is not "forsaking all others" if he is dishonoring his wife by looking at another female's naked body when he is eternally wedded with the one he loves.
